Details for the Good Friday Brunch

It’s Good Friday this week and so we’re going to be having a Mosaic Brunch at the Offutt’s on Friday morning (10am - 12pm).

There’ll be two parts to the morning. The first half of the morning we’re going to have some prayers, Scriptures, and a couple of songs to help us focus on Jesus’ death and the significance of that. And at the end of that time they’ll be an opportunity for those that want to to take communion.

Following on from that it’ll be time to feast! Emily is co-ordinating who needs to bring what via the Facebook Event we’ve created, so please check what food or drink would be good for you to bring. It’d be helpful too if people RSVP.

If you need any more information, just let us know.

See you on Friday!

Mosaic @Starbucks - Sunday 1st April, 10.30am

It’s a Mosaic at Starbucks Sunday this week so we’ll be hanging out at the Division Street branch from 10.30am. It’s a great opportunity to connect with our community if you’re interested in finding out more and also, for those who are regulars, a perfect space for introducing friends.

See you Sunday!

(For those of you who weren’t around last Sunday for the start of the series on passion and discipleship, you can catch up with the talk and discussion that was all about passion here.)

Mosaic @Starbucks - Sunday 18th March, 10.30am

Just a quick note to say that this Sunday we’ll be hanging out at Starbucks on Division Street from 10.30am. It’s part of our new plan to meet in Starbucks twice a month (usually the first and third Sunday’s) and use that as an opportunity for new people to connect, find out more, and get to know us.

See you Sunday!

Messy Mosaic’s 1st birthday!

This month is Messy Mosaic’s 1st birthday! We’ll be exploring celebration and remembering and there will be cake and balloons!

Messy Mosaic is a monthly open, informal, creative space. It is a space to explore faith, spirituality and the message of Jesus with crafts, reflective space, story, song and is for all ages. There’s a bring and share tea for kids and adults and lots of opportunities to get messy!

Everyone is really welcome to come and explore with us.

Mosaic, Besom, this Sunday and all things Lent..

We wanted to let people know what is happening this Sunday (4th March) and with lent.

We decided at our last gathering that it would be a good idea to do what we’ve done previously and for people to give something up (as well as take something up?) that will free up cash for us to put towards a Besom project or something we feel we should give to them as a community.

This Sunday we’ll be communicating the new series we’ll be starting (releasing our passions and dreams and discipling others) as well as communicating and discussing some changes coming up so it would be great for as many to be there as possible.

We’ll meet at the Radford’s at 4pm. It’ll be jacket potatoes and we’ll text about other things we need!

At our Ash Wednesday gathering we took time to reflect on our passions - something we care enough about to do even when it costs us but that others can be a part of and impacted by. We also prayed and listened for what we should focus on for Besom. As we reflected, 2 people felt washing machine (and/or fridge/white goods) and another, a single guy who has recently transitioned from something/somewhere - drug addiction, prison, the army… If you feel anything else let everyone know! For now we can plan that by the end of lent we will have more than enough as a community to get these for someone if there is a need. We can also finish Nina’s garden in the Spring! Ruth and Chris will be coordinating this. Thank you Simkins!

ACTIONS! 1) Is there something else you or we can offer Besom in terms of time, talents, money? 2) Is there something you can give up to free up cash to go towards our community fund for Besom? Are there others you can invite to join us in this? We have some friends who are going to do something to free up money for Mosaic and Besom which is great. It’s a good way for people to get involved somehow. 3) Some people are taking something up - reading through Cafe Theology, reading the Bible everyday, journalling, a new hobby/way of meeting others?

Hopefully see everyone on Sunday for what will be the start of an exciting lenten time and the rest of 2012!

This Sunday: What about the church?

This Sunday we’re going to be finishing off the ‘Alpha’ series that we’ve been doing. We’ll be wrapping things up by watching a video about the question, ‘What about the church’ and look at the various images we find in the Bible to describe what the church is.

We’ll be meeting at 4pm and Isaac and Natalie Randall’s. Contact us if you don’t know where to go.
